At the heart of “Ms. Natalie's” studio is a simple belief: music has the power to shape not only exceptional musicians, but exceptional human beings.

For more than 30 years, Natalie Haworth-Liu has mentored young flutists throughout Silicon Valley, creating a studio where artistic excellence, personal growth, and genuine human connection flourish together.

Natalie believes the study of music is about far more than mastering notes and technique. It is an opportunity to develop confidence, resilience, creativity, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for beauty.

Her teaching combines a strong technical foundation with an individualized approach that honors each student's personality, learning style, and goals. Lessons emphasize healthy technique, beautiful tone, musical expression, thoughtful practice habits, performance preparation, and a broad and inspiring repertoire. Alongside these musical skills, Natalie naturally incorporates mindset, confidence-building, and performance psychology, equipping students with tools that extend well beyond the practice room.

As an active performer, conductor, and certified life coach, Natalie teaches from experience. She understands the challenges musicians face and strives to create an environment where students feel both supported and challenged. Her studio is known for its warmth, high standards, laughter, and lasting relationships. Many students remain with her for years and continue to seek her guidance well into adulthood.

Natalie's students have earned concerto competition victories, principal positions in leading youth orchestras, all-state and county honors, command performances, and scholarships to prestigious summer festivals and university music programs. Many have gone on to successful careers as performers, educators, and creative professionals.

While she celebrates these achievements, Natalie believes they are simply milestones along a much larger journey. Her greatest joy is watching students grow into confident, thoughtful, expressive individuals who approach both music and life with curiosity, integrity, and resilience.

More than flute lessons.
